By the smile on those salesmen." Inside you see a plethora of gear. a vac suit, and fresher, a flop rifle, stun baton 6 type a batteries, survival kit, med kit, too kit, meta tool, 40 meters of tl4 rope, a survey scanner, tl4 binoculars, low light goggles, and a Bio scanner.

Mr. Whitaker has no current plans involving the substance, and I'm certain he would approve of my plans for it. I believe he is taking a much needed vacation anyways."

“That’s a good idea I suppose. I was travelling around Asgapur for a while, mostly on my own, hopping from place to place to work and live. I heard about the UNW and managed to stowaway on a ship leaving the planet. When it launched, I loaded up a lifeboat with food and water and launched myself away on it. Was as good as dead when a UNW ship pulled me in. First time I heard of the Remnant was waiting in line to get a citizenship.”

Turns out I’m an absolutely terrible navigator, and even with a signal showing me where to go, it took longer than expected to get into UNW space. I guess we both owe the UNW our lives in a way.”

Cornelius leans toward Kensh and lowers his voice. "Robert was the one that Petey the spider-bot was break dancing on at the party. He was the pilot on my first mission. You gotta have a little fun with the captain or he gets moody. Probably from having to be so professorial all the time."

The scanners show no recent ship emissions. The beach is still vitrified from the energy of the bombardment, overall, the site is largely undisturbed. The Remnant dead were buried with dignity but the leftovers of their mass attack, and the burned black wrecks of two light tanks still litter the beach.

The two battle tanks were both gutted by rocket fire. The bodies inside were left, the hulls too hot to allow mortuary crews to pull them out. Ammunition inside cooking off was also a risk, but it appears the special magazines inside kept the shells at a reasonable temperature

Cornelius stretches and yawns awakening from his nap in the pilot's chair a little stiff. Looking at the console in front of him he announces arrival. "Well it looks like we've landed at that facility." When he sees Kensh still asleep, and the captain gone. After taking a much deserved quick sit in the captain's chair he nudges Kensh awake. "Come on, looks like the captain got tired of waiting for us. Remind me to set an alarm on Ro-bert next time. Let's get the bikes and go after him. If we're lucky we might find some ore or plant samples on the way to that perimeter base." (edited)

As you begin looking through the grasses for the plant specimins you're after, a sleek looking transport plane with WHITAKER SOLUTIONS branded on the fusolage comes in for landing in the water a short distance from shore. A small inflatable is thrown into the water, and it appears the passengers are making a beeline for the beach near you

The facility has a fallen barracks husking that was gutted by thermobaric rocket fire during the battle. It’s ruins have fallen across the courtyard of the complex, toward the beach. The facility itself is in ruins as well, totally guttered by fire, the tunnel downward blocked by debris

An intense firefight took place in this hallway. THe doorframes, walls, and floor are shell pocked. The lab seems a bit safer. A few bodies in the middle stages of decay are face down near the back of the lab, initial resistance when it was stormed. There is a large island to the northwest that is home only to some ruins. A tribe of neon furred primates inhabit them, violently attacking anything that gets too close, but the land mass is very big and free from settlement.
